Lenny the Loquacious Lemur

Lenny the Loquacious Lemur
sat in his octopus tree,
waiting for other lemurs
to pop in for tea.

Sometimes he’d nitter natter,
and sometimes he’d chit chat.
But, one thing was guaranteed,
and this was that…

When Lenny talked you listened –
you didn’t have a choice.
‘Cos when Lenny talked, he listened
only to his own voice.
When Lenny talked you nodded,
and smiled and looked polite,
and if you were lucky,
he’d let you say, “Yes quite”.
When Lenny talked he didn’t stop,
not even for a breath,
and that is how, eventually,
Lenny talked himself to death.
